Feeling better

This machine has been great to use. I had gallbladder removed and for 3 days straight this helped me feel better.

A Must Have

Using for torn rotator cuff and torn labrum surgery. Recovery would not be possible without it. And Ortho Bracing has crazy fast shipping. Using 4 frozen water bottles like other users recommended to keep from constantly using ice (works perfectly) for many hours.

Yes, buy this - it actually does what it says it does. It works and keeps the pad cold enough to help keep the swelling down after surgery - in this case Hip Surgery.
The only down side to this is that it uses quite a bit of ice to create the cold - clever how the designers knew to mix water with ice for the most efficient cold generation.

Unbox it, (okay read the instructions), fill the water up to the easily found indicator-line inside the liquid container - then fill the container with ice up to the line clearly displayed inside the container, if necessary, use a blunt object to break the ice-crust on the top of the ice -water mixture, replace the top, plug in the cooling pad hose into the hose from the ice-water container - making sure to press down on the two metal keys on the hose end coming from the container, plug connect the hoses together...plug it in and in about 5 minutes or so you have a cold pad.

I found that the instructions didn't have photos or graphis on how to correctly replace the lid. Nor did the instructions have graphics or photos on what the inside should look like when the amounts of water and / or ice are added.

It would be a great improvement if Breg would develop a unit that can freeze a substance without the addition of ice...and then the added water would work the same.
This substance could be part of the walls (maybe like the stuff in blue ice for camping) and flexable to be frozen in the freezer and easily replaced into the unit.

In its present form the Breg® Polar Care Cube should be sent home from the hospital with every patient needing swelling control and Medicare should pay for it.

I have a criticism though for Orthobracing.com:
The website and email responders haver a great proactive, friendly, warm, welcoming theme and tone, and I really like the blurb about buying from their site printed on the invoice...made me smile. I still haven't received answers to my questions after a week or two, or any personal communiucation underwritng the supposed "we're your interested and caring friends" ...so it's just words...the humans behind them don't seem to be there, or care...

The Breg® Polar Care Cube is a must buy!

William, thanks for the review and for pointing out that we did not get back to you. We went back the records and saw that we did not respond to your email on 5.15.21. We are really sorry about this. It looks like the message was read but then the reply was never sent. We apologize about that and hope that everything continues on smoothly with recovery :)

My friend lent me her polar cube after my TKR. It’s wonderful and so convenient that I will order my own to use for my next TKR.

Purchased the Breg Polar Care Cube for knee replacement surgery. What a relief it has been. Not the most comfortable unit to sleep with! But definitely worth it for the rest of the day. Definitely recommend.
