Breg Polar Care Cube Replacement Pads

A Breg Polar Care Cube is a long-term investment, and the cooler itself rarely needs replacing. The pads, however, see regular contact with the skin, water, and ice through every session, and over time, they wear out. Having the right replacement pad on hand means your cold therapy routine does not have to stop when one wears out.

How The Breg WrapOn Pad System Works

The Breg WrapOn pad is not a standard cold therapy wrap. Rather than requiring a foam wrap or ace bandage to hold it in place, the WrapOn pad uses its own integrated elastic straps that wrap around the joint and attach directly to the pad surface. This self-securing design keeps the pad positioned correctly throughout a session without slipping or requiring manual readjustment.

Cold water from the Cube cooler circulates through the pad via a hose connection. The hose connects to the pad fitting, and the cooler pumps chilled water through the pad continuously during each session. The pad is anatomically shaped for each specific body area, so coverage follows the contour of the joint rather than lying flat across it.

One important note: a skin barrier is required between the pad and the skin during every session. Breg's Sterile Polar Dressings serve this purpose and are specifically designed for use with WrapOn pads. Using the pad directly against bare skin is not recommended.

Compatibility: Cube, Glacier, And Cub Only

WrapOn pads are compatible with three Breg systems: the Polar Care Cube, the Polar Care Glacier, and the Polar Care Cub. They are not compatible with the Breg Kodiak cooler, which uses a different connection type. Before ordering, check the hose fitting on your cooler. The Cube connection type has a specific fitting profile. If the fitting on your cooler matches the Cube connection shown on the product page, you are ordering the correct pad.

Pad Options By Joint

We carry Breg Polar Care Cube replacement pads for the following body areas. Sizing details are listed for each.

Knee

Available in two sizes. The Standard knee pad measures 10.25" x 11.25" and fits most adult builds. The XL measures 12.25" x 19" and provides greater coverage behind the knee. Most customers find the XL offers better coverage for the full knee area. Measure six inches above the center of your kneecap to size correctly.

Shoulder

Also available in two sizes. The Standard measures 12.25" x 11.5". The XL measures 13" x 21.5" and is recommended for a chest circumference of 40 inches or more.

Hip

The hip pad measures 11.5" x 12" and contours around the hip joint. One size fits most.

Ankle

The ankle pad measures 8.25" x 9.75" and wraps securely around the ankle. One size fits most.

Back

The back pad covers the lumbar region and is used with the Cube system in the same way as all other WrapOn configurations.

Multi-Use

A multi-use XL pad measuring 11.25" x 11.25" is available for flexible coverage across more than one area.

What To Verify Before Placing Your Order

Three things are worth confirming before you complete your purchase. Here’s what you need to know:

Hose Connection Type

This is the most common source of ordering errors. WrapOn pads for the Cube, Glacier, and Cub use a specific connection fitting that differs from the Breg Kodiak. Look at the hose connection on your cooler and compare it to the diagram on the product page. If you are unsure, contact our team, and we will confirm compatibility before you order.

Pad Size

Sizing varies by joint. For the knee, measure six inches above the kneecap. For the shoulder, use your chest circumference to determine Standard versus XL. For other areas, most configurations are one size.

Skin Barrier

A skin barrier is required for every session. Breg Sterile Polar Dressings are the recommended option and are available through our replacement parts page.

Getting The Most From Your Replacement Pad

Replacing a worn pad is straightforward, but a few habits extend the life of the new one.

Allow the pad to dry fully between sessions rather than storing it while still damp. Wipe the exterior down after use and avoid folding or compressing it tightly during storage, as this can affect the internal tubing over time. Inspect the hose connection and fittings before each session to confirm there are no leaks. If the pad no longer holds its seal or the straps have lost their elasticity, it is time to replace it.

For step-by-step guidance on positioning the pad correctly for each joint, our resource on how to position the Breg Polar Care pad covers application in practical detail. If you want to understand more about what the pad material is made of, our resource on what Breg Polar Care pads are made of covers that directly.

Using One Cooler Across Multiple Areas

One advantage of the WrapOn pad system is that a single Polar Care Cube cooler can serve more than one body area over the course of a recovery. Swapping to a different pad configuration allows the same cooler to be used for the knee during one period and the shoulder during another, for example. Our resource on using Breg Polar Care across different body parts covers the full range of supported configurations.

For the complete range of Breg products we carry beyond replacement pads, our all Breg products page lists every available option.

Frequently Asked Questions

WrapOn pads are compatible with the Polar Care Cube, Polar Care Glacier, and Polar Care Cub only. They are not compatible with the Breg Kodiak, which uses a different connection fitting. Always verify your cooler's connection type before ordering.

Measure six inches above the center of your kneecap. The Standard pad fits most adult builds. The XL provides greater coverage, particularly behind the knee, and most customers find it gives better overall contact with the joint.

A skin barrier is required for every session. Breg Sterile Polar Dressings are the recommended option and must be placed between the pad and the skin before each use.

This depends on how frequently the pad is used and how well it is maintained between sessions. Allowing the pad to dry fully between uses and avoiding tight storage extends its life. Replace the pad when it no longer holds its seal, loses elasticity in the straps, or shows visible wear to the internal tubing.

Yes. A single Polar Care Cube cooler can be used with different WrapOn pad configurations across different body areas. Each pad connects to the cooler using the same hose fitting, so swapping pads between sessions is straightforward.

Yes. Breg Polar Care Cube WrapOn replacement pads are HSA and FSA approved.
