I've now been using the DonJoy Immobilizer brace during my shoulder surgery recovery, and overall I think it's an excellent product. It's comfortable, intuitive, and, most importantly, it doesn't make day-to-day recovery any harder than it already is.
One of the biggest positives has been how well it integrates with my Breg Polar Care Wave cold/compression system. I can easily undo the necessary Velcro straps or clips to position the therapy pad and perform my prescribed exercises without having to completely remove or disassemble the brace. That may seem like a small detail, but when you're recovering from shoulder surgery, minimizing unnecessary movement is a huge plus.
The only constructive feedback I have is on a couple of minor ergonomic issues. The small red retention ball at the end of the abduction pillow tends to work its way out and fall off fairly easily. It's not a major problem—I simply pick it up and continue using it—but it could definitely use a more secure attachment method. Additionally, after wearing the brace for extended periods, a few of the Velcro edges can start to rub against my wrist, thumb, and hand, causing a little irritation. I've been able to fold those edges back to solve the issue, but a softer edge treatment would make an already great product even better.
Overall, though, these are very minor complaints. The brace has performed exactly as I hoped, has made my recovery easier, and has worked flawlessly alongside my cold therapy system. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone going through shoulder surgery recovery.
I bought the Breg Polar Care Wave after a lot of research and in preparation for my right knee TKR. I am so happy I purchased this product. I had surgery on 5/27 and it has been my constant companion since. In my mind what sets this apart from other brands is the compression it provides as it is circulating the cold water around my knee. Feels amazing and brings relief fast. The only recommendation I have for Breg is can you make it controllable via a remote control? That would be immensely helpful and mean I don’t need help to turn on/off as I am elevating my leg. If you have been on the fence whether or not to buy it. Do it. You won’t regret it.

Was recommended this for my ankle surgery two years ago. I got one then and was amazed at how much relief it provides without being complicated. Decided to get a newer one to help with recovery after work. Once again, I feel extra rejuvenated and ready for the next day after every use.
Makes the need to ice your knee so easy and painless. Very effective and easy to use without any mess. Runs quiet too
I am not happy with my purchase. I paid almost $370 for my machine And I think that there are many flaws to this system. The out let and the hose are mashed or crunched by the handle. I have tried turning the handle the other direction or putting the cord under the handle but if you do it that way you have to unplug it all before picking it up. I was very shocked there was no type of a timer on the system or a remote control. There are many other systems online for $200 less that had some type of a remote or a timer.
The lid holds at least a cup of water inside of it and so when you have to change the ice or ice bags, The water that is retained inside of the lid goes all over your floor unless you hold the lid upside down over the bucket for several minutes shaking it before you can lay it down and change your ice. I had a meniscus repair and I did not think I would have to do all of this work to get relief. Another big flaw is the heaviness and hardness of the clamp that the joins the two hoses. My meniscus repair was on my right leg And because I sleep on the left side of the bed that big heavy clap has to lay across my ankle or my ankle which is very uncomfortable. I have to use a sock or ace wrap to cover up that clamp. I feel like you could have provided something to go over it because it is heavy and in the way. I wish I could return this for a different model. I keep feeling like I could have ordered something much cheaper and be more satisfied. Sorry to submit such a bad review but I'm not happy and I think all of these things could have been different. The outlet could have been placed in a different spot, there could be a hook on the bucket to hang the lid so that the water would drip inside of the bucket and not all over my floor, You could have pro vided something to go over the clamp, that either has to sit on my injured or under my good leg.

I purchased this machine after a friend of mine loaned me theirs. I am approaching the stage of knee replacement on my left leg and unfortunately I had surgery on my right foot with a six week non weight bearing recovery. I used the machine on my left knee due to pain from overuse. It is so much better than an ice pack and lasts for hours. I did not use on my surgical foot but may when I transition to weight bearing. It is worth the cost. I may purchase other attachment (s) to have options for other configurations. I am currently using the knee attachment and love it.

I love this machine. I have had 4 surgeries on my 2 knees and have had 4 different ice machines….i wish would have found this one on my first surgery, not my last.
It is easy to use. The pad is soft and distributors just the right amount of cold. The machine is quiet. We use 4 frozen water bottles and it last a long time and makes it easy. The connectors are easy. I LOVE it!
Ice works great; compression almost non- existent. A basic water flow unit very overpriced. Should be about $49 NOT $350. Taking advantage of people; and clearly not worth it. Very disappointed!
This is the best brace I have had. I do not have an ACL or MCL issues. But I do have tendonitis in my knees. This brace has helped me get through the rough grasses without any pain
the Breg cold wave system is wonderful. I bought the system last year with the knee ice/compression for my knee replacements and does an excellent job. Now I am having should issues and bought the should pad attachment. It does an excellent job but is a little more difficult to put on and keep all the way up but once you get it adjusted properly, it help tremendously. I would highly recommend the Breg cold wave system.
