Game Ready Wrap Size Guide: Which Wrap and Size Do You Need?

Most Game Ready wraps are one size, so the main choice is which body area you're treating. Only two wraps come in sizes: the shoulder wrap (Medium or Large, by chest size) and the ankle wrap (Large or X-Large, by shoe size). Shoulder and hip/groin wraps also come in right and left models. Game Ready Wrap Size Chart

Game Ready Knee Wraps

Game Ready makes two knee wraps, and both are one size and fit either leg. The straight knee wrap ($461.95) is 17 inches long and fits a leg up to 32 inches around at the top. The articulated knee wrap ($542.43) is shaped to bend with the knee.

Both are popular after ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair and knee replacement. Game Ready Shoulder Wraps

The shoulder wrap is the one where size and side both matter. Measure around your chest: Medium fits 33 to 45 inches and Large fits 40 to 55 inches. Then order the side you're treating. OrthoBracing sells Medium and Large in both right and left, all at the same price.

Game Ready Hip and Groin Wraps

The hip/groin wrap is one size and fits a wide range of body types, so you only choose right or left. Pick the side of your surgery or injury. Each hip/groin wrap is $529.20 at OrthoBracing, or $3,566.59 with the control unit.

It's used after hip surgery and for groin and hip flexor strains. Game Ready lists a fit up to a 72-inch waist with an optional extender strap, which OrthoBracing doesn't sell. See the Game Ready hip system.

Game Ready Back Wrap

The Game Ready back wrap fits waists from 22 to 55 inches, and there's no left or right to choose. Measure around your waist where you normally wear your pants. The back wrap is $529.20 at OrthoBracing, or $3,566.59 with the control unit.

Game Ready Ankle and Half-Leg Boot Wraps

For the ankle, go by shoe size. The Large ankle wrap fits men's shoe sizes 6 to 11 and women's up to 13, and the X-Large fits men's 12 to 18. Both fit either foot and cost $450.92. The half-leg boot ($529.20) covers the foot, ankle and lower leg.

Game Ready Elbow Wraps

Both Game Ready elbow wraps are one size and fit either arm. Choose the straight elbow wrap ($383.67) if you can straighten your arm. Choose the flexed elbow wrap ($529.20) if your elbow has to stay bent, since it holds the elbow at 90° to 135°.

How to Measure for a Game Ready Wrap

You only need to measure for three wraps. Shoulder: measure around your chest. Back: measure around your waist. Ankle: use your usual shoe size. Use a soft tape measure, keep it snug but not tight, and if you fall where two sizes overlap, ask your surgeon or physical therapist.

Do You Need the Control Unit Too?

Yes. A Game Ready wrap only works with a Game Ready control unit, which circulates the ice water and adds compression. The GRPro 2.1 is $3,037.39 at OrthoBracing and doesn't include a wrap. It's a prescription device and has a 1-year warranty. An optional battery pack is $553.90.

If you already own a GRPro 2.1, just add the wrap you need. If you don't, buying the unit and wrap together is the simplest way to get everything in one order. Caring for Your Wrap

Take the inner heat exchanger out of the sleeve after each use, dry it and hang both parts to air out. Hang the wrap or lay it flat; folding can kink it. With light home use, Game Ready puts sleeve life at about 12 months and the heat exchanger at about 24 months.
