Recovering from rotator cuff surgery. This wrap on pad is absolutely necessary—excellent fit if you follow the fit instructions. The pad that comes with the Donjoy Iceman is not sufficient for a total shoulder application. Get this one. Get the 12-pack ice bag packs also. The ability to constantly rotate them through the Iceman is invaluable.
My 83 year old mother fell and broke her humerus and this has been a lifesaver. She has alzheimers and wouldn't leave the other sling on. This provides support and is hard for her to remove by herself, so it's been perfect.
Product arrived right on time. Came with everything I needed. It is a game changer for post surgery icing. Keeps cooling for hours with no need to get up for more ice.
I like the cube but wondered why an insulating layer isn’t provided with each machine purchase? After ordering and then watching YouTube I learned that the pad cannot touch skin and that an insulated barrier must be used. But by then I already had the machine. In actuality having the pad over a t shirt is fine.
My son has a failed Total hip replacement (by renowned surgeon) with continuous pain and a tendency to DISLOCATE at night (a medial emergency with excruciating pain) requiring ambulance transfer to ER's for reduction under anesthesia. I believed the problem is uncorrected weak/damaged ligaments holding the femur and ball in the socket. This brace has apparently stopped the nocturnal dislocations so far. If so, an absolute Godsend.
Been very effective managing pain from knee replacement surgery. A thoughtful thing to buy to make it easier for your caretaker. Less mess, trips to the freezer, easy set up.
After shoulder surgery, I was given an Ultrasling II. It worked fine, but after a few days my neck was hurting and my shoulders were hunched from the sling pulling my neck to the side. The Ultrasling Pro attaches to a loop around my opposite shoulder, which takes the pressure off the neck and improves posture substantially. Its a little harder to put on, but since I leave it on a lot more, it's not an issue. Highly recommended.
This machine was so helpful in reducing swelling and pain in my arm and shoulder. The water temperature was comfortable which allowed me to sustain several hours of cold therapy each day. Thank you for the Kodiak and your many helpful suggestions. Highly recommended 👍
The replacement works as expected. It was great to be able to have a replacement vs buying a new unit. When I had difficulty checking out, the team was very helpful and got my order out quickly.
Great unit for price although wrap needs better posterior coverage
Compression and ice so much better than ice alone! Would rate at 4.5 overall if available as mostly a great machine with a few areas of potential improvement in the wrap. I had recent TKR and have a history of swelling (thus more pressure & pain) and this unit really helps. I rented GameReady™ uber expensive machine (purchase cost~$3200-3500) x 3 weeks starting immediately post op (professional athletes and stars use) and their knee wrap provided full circumferential coverage due to longer length and width. I realize it is unfair to compare machines with a 9-10 fold price difference, however I do so to report that the ortho brace cold/compression therapy unit was better than I expected and I am glad I purchased it.
After an adult lifetime of bilateral knee pain and several knee surgeries, I have used 3 other ice machines and the compression makes a huge difference to relieve my swelling and pain.
There are 2 Orthobrace wrap sizes (same cost) and I ordered the standard one it does not provide any cold therapy behind my knee. I'm considering ordering the larger wrap (as I need another knee replacement) and from personal experience replacement wraps are harder to purchase the longer you wait as models may change.
Other concern is velcro wrap is making the wrap more fuzzy so velcro doesn't adhere as well and my thigh strap tends to want to lift and not provide compression as well so I use an ace bandage to secure (a bit of inconvenient). GameReady machine has a much sturdier attachment for velcro and did not have same problem after 24/67 use. I still use Orthobrace machine many hours per day.
In the course of my daily life, my DME tends to get a real workout. (replacements, reorders, etc.)
Thank you so much "OrthoBracing" for your efficient work throughout this process. My first brace was returned and you've refunded that purchase. The brace I'm wearing now is the proper size and fit. Keeping me on your mailing list.
Peace.
Good product and helpful after knee surgery. This company was great to work with and responded quickly with an order mistake on my part. Thankful for the honest response and help in getting me the product.
