This product was purchased to help me out with icing my shoulder after rotator cuff surgery. This is the second time I’ve had this surgery but the first time with this machine. The first time I was using the freezer bags of ice and towel and also got ahold of a shoulder ice pack that works a bit better than the bags of ice and towel method. It was a hassle to use the freezer pack method so I was very happy to use something else. If you’re reading this you already know how well reviewed the Breg system is but I will add my review to the many other accolades it’s received.

The good: The hassle of running back and forth to the freezer for ice is over. The worry about freezing my skin with direct contact of ice is over. The short period of icing is over. With this Breg system I load it up with loose ice, water and a frozen water bottle and it lasts longer than I need it to. Often I can forgo the loose ice and just use the water bottom technique.

The bad: you really need to have some additional hands. The hassle is moved to attaching the pad to the shoulder. Not impossible to do by myself but it’s really best if someone can help. Also, the connection of the tubing is prone to water leaking if the connection isn’t fully secured. Just need to double check and with a bad shoulder (arm and hand) it wasn’t easy to do. Again, another person really does help with this.

Bottom line for me is I will be using the Breg for all my icing needs moving forward and purchasing any attachments needed for the area needing to be iced.

99% happy to have purchased it and will be using it in the future.

This was absolutely perfect for my mom’s knee surgery. She keeps it on through the night to reduce the swelling and discomfort. It’s portable so we can move it to different rooms in the house.

The product works great and is very easy to setup and use. Water is moved throughout the pad very efficiently and the compression works really good. The motor is very quiet, and you barely notice it is on. Only negative things I have to add: 1) wish there was a timer(s) so it will automatically turn off after a period of time, 2) the ice bags that came with the machine are terrible. Three of the bags got holes after one use, and another two bags got holes after three uses.

I have orthopedic issues and have had multiple surgeries. My post op experience pre-ice therapy was just a lot of pain. Since discovering the benefits of ice, I’ll never go back. But it’s not that simple. Originally I purchased a refurbished Game Ready unit because of the high cost of a new unit. It was wonderful (as long as the unit was working). Since I couldn’t count on the refurbished unit, my next surgery I purchased an inexpensive but well reviewed circulating cold therapy unit on Amazon. It didn’t have the temperature adjustment and I got a severe burn on my affected area (in spite of using a barrier & following the guidelines for time on/off the ice). Since I still have several surgeries to go, I decided this time I would bite the bullet and purchase a new Game Ready and sleeves for this particular surgery. I’ve been pleased with the reliability of the machine. It does take a bit of reading to understand how to program the cold therapy for your particular needs (great instructions come with the unit). The sleeves (sold separately) are again costly but they are excellent quality and work well. If this product is doable in your budget, I highly recommend it. It is the top of the line cold therapy treatment based on my experience.

My first polar bear cube was purchased in December of 2015 for my right knee replacement and it was the best money I ever spent!! It continued to work very well up until @ 2 weeks after my left total knee replacement. So I decided it was time for a new one ( nothing lasts forever but it did for at least 10 years). The second polar care cube was worth every penny spent!!
The polar care dressings are well worth the money but I didn’t know which one to buy so I purchased 3 of them and one works great for the newest polar bear cube and another works well ( fits well) for the first polar bear cube machine.
You just simply can’t beat the Polar Bear Cube machine or dressings!! Makes the recovery process much smoother than without one. !! I am still using the first one but it doesn’t circulate as well as the newer one, but I’m surprised that it lasted 10 years !!! 20 Stars 🌟 out of 10 !! Lol

This device provides both an icing as well as compression function and each function has two levels. There are many icing machine options on the market that are okay (and we had one of them) but this one is excellent! The real differentiator for the Breg Wave is the compression function and it does and excellent job and is a fantastic function to speed recovery. I am having a second knee surgery shortly, 5 weeks after the first, and will be purchasing the Y-connector and an additional knee sleeve so I can ice both knees simultaneously. This machine is arguably the best on the market at this price point but even compared to the Game Ready which cost north of $3,000 and which I have used at PT, the Breg Wave performs just as well.

I'm using these bags for my machine for my rotator cuff surgery care. They are great. Small, easy to use and now my wife doesn't have to carry the machine to dump it and then go find big bags of ice to use. Great idea. Hopefully they will last.

I am thrilled we have this unit! My daughter had ACL surgery and this unit is a life saver! It has helped with her pain management and reducing the swelling post-surgery. We couldn't survive without it! The unit is quality, and easy to set up. It gets cold very quickly!
